Bananas Foster Toast {Toddler-Friendly}

It’s a given, as a parent you are always trying to figure out how to get your child to eat more and eat healthy.  The best way I’ve discovered is by making their meals sweet or salty depending on their taste buds.  This recipe caters to the sweet tooth your toddler may have.  I’ve created the recipe with some nutrition in mind.  It’s almost dessert for breakfast!

These are the ingredients you’ll need:

2 slices whole wheat toast

4 oz Vanilla or Banana yogurt

2 tspns brown sugar

a pinch of cinnamon

butter to spread on toast


This is how you make it:

– Toast the bread, spread butter and set aside.

– In a blender, throw in the banana*, yogurt, brown sugar and cinnamon.  Blend until well mixed.

– Spread banana mix onto the toast.

Sit back and relax, knowing they are getting potassium, fiber and calcium in each bite.

*Note: If your little one likes to see the banana, leave the banana out of the blender and instead slice it and fold into the yogurt mixture OR spread the yogurt mixture on top of the toast and add the sliced bananas on top.  These alternatives come from my understanding of how picky these littles one can be and if seeing the actual banana gets them to eat then let them see it.
